For a nickel
(or a dime in later years), park visitors could find a variety of
fortune telling machines, short movies or a slippery machine that
might just drop a jack knife or cigarette lighter to the lucky winner.
Pictured on the left is Ramasee, the Great Egyptian mummy who could
see and tell all for a nickel. On the right is the popular love
testing machine. For a dime, you could grab the handle and hope
for the top title. Many of these machines could be found in the
various parts of the park into the late 1970s. For example, the
Calico Ice Cream shop in Tombstone Territory featured a nickelodeon
of Tom Mix. The Arcade featured a manual baseball game with players
such as Lou Gehrig, Frankie Frisch and Babe Ruth. Teams highlighted
included the St. Louis Browns, the Washington Senators and the Philadelphia
Athletics. [Photo credits: park archives and Scott
