In 1949, the midway stopped just at the entrance of the Cyclone (Screechin' Eagle) roller coaster. That summer, crowds were greeted to a newly expanded midway that featured the Penny Arcade and Fun Parade buildings. The structure was a masonry building with accent lighting on the front to take advantage of the lake's reflection at night. The building served as the park's arcade until 1961, when another structure was built further down the midway complete with terrazzo flooring. In 1976, a second arcade, called the Outlaw Den, was added in the newly renovated Tombstone Territory. [Photo credits: park archives and Scott Fowler]
